The *BeagleBoard* is a low-power, low-cost [single-board computer](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-board_computer) produced by [Texas Instruments](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Instruments) in association with [Digi-Key](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digi-Key). The BeagleBoard was designed with [open source](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_source) development in mind, and as a way of demonstrating the Texas Instrument's [OMAP3530](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Instruments_OMAP) [system-on-a-chip](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System-on-a-chip). The board was developed by a small team of TI engineers as an educational board that could be used in colleges around the world to teach open source hardware and open source software capabilities.
